Thumbs for categories
 

Hi,

I have my posts laid out in a grid with a Thumb Title and Excerpt.

I am using the thumbs as colour coding for each of the categories so I only need 6 thumbnails.

Is there a way of me attributing a thumbnail to a post based on its category rather than putting it in as a featured image each time?

not that I know of. a post can have one featured image, a post can be in multiple categories

I wouldnt be able to use a custom query of some sort.

<if?cat=6 thepost thumb ="img src"> ?????

Otherwise I have to manually do 300 posts.....
