[SOLVED] Deactivate Comments

How do I deactivate comments from this theme?

I went to dashboard->settings->discussions to look for a turn off comment button but see none. I have only the user must be logged in to comment and nothing shows up on my page for people to comment. But I get spam on a few of my pages. Please let me know how I can stop this.

Thanks in advance for any help!

You deactivate comments in WordPress. First globally in the WordPress settings and then on each post or page.

To shut off comments for PAGES (not posts) go to ATO->Style & configure COMMENTS->Allow comments on "Page" pages, too? and set it to 'No' (which is the default)

I have also successfully used a plugin called Disable Comments by Samir Shah.

"This plugin allows administrators to globally disable comments on any post type (posts, pages, attachments, etc.) so that these settings cannot be overridden for individual posts. It also removes all comment-related fields from edit and quick-edit screens. On multisite installations, it can be used to disable comments on the entire network."

Thanks Sharon. I had comments disabled from pages and posts, but came here looking for a way to get the "reply" section off media attachments. This plugin did the trick -- super easy.
