400 Bad Request - Leave a comment

One cannot leave a comment. When "Leave a comment" is clicked on, it goes to "400 Bad Request." I've upgraded to the latest versions of ATA.. and WP with no success. Any suggestions please?

Does it work if you swap to the default theme?

When I change to the default, it gives me the same error

400 Bad Request is usually caused by the client Pc / browser and not on the server side

What's the url of your site? I will check and try and leave a comment

Hmm interesting FF and Chrome get the 400 too, in IE click the leave a comment link and nothing happens.

Think this rules out a client side problem, it looks like the site is pretty well established and was working ok in the past?

Have you done any changes apart from the upgrades you mentioned ie added plugins uograded plugins?

Has you're host made any changes / upgrades recently do you have access to the server error log as this may help diagnose the problem

Just found this could be relevant

Quote:

Do you get the error on simple URLs ?. If you get a problem with a long complicated URL (such as http://www.xxx.com?PHPrequest=643&value=dres&cookies=No) but not with a shorter simpler URL for the same site (such as http://www.xxx.com), this can indicate a problem with the Web server on the site you are trying to visit. This is not conclusive evidence, but is a good starting point. Contact the owners of the Web site and describe the problem to them. You may find for example the problem occurs with POST methods (you are both submitting data to the Web site and retrieving data from the Web site), but not with GET methods (you are only retrieving data from the Web site).

Cagey - your footers are messed up. What do you have coded at ATO->Edit POST/PAGE INFO ITEMS->FOOTER: Homepage? Please do a copy and then click teh little html icon just above the post area here and then paste it in. (the HTML icon will put a [ html ] [ /html ] - with no spaces - around the code)
