[SOLVED] Site loads extremely slow

Hello.

Today my website is extremely slow. :o

website = e-cigaretter.nu

I remember that from a thread here that if you have a Facebook button this could cause pages to load slow or something, but my facebook button only shows up in single posts/pages. Should not interfere unless you go directly to a subpage, or?

I have also been editing alot of pages lately and saved them many times in short notice, can this be another reason why the page is slow?

I use following (updated) plugins:

AddtoAny
All in One SEO Pack
Automatic SEO Links
Google XML Sitemaps
Link Hopper
Wordpress Database Backup
WP-PostRatings
WP Super Cache (disabled due graphic at some pages dosen't update properly)

Is this alot for a website? Or is it a error in my code/bad construction?

..Is there anyway to find out? :(

It could be lots of things,

The number of oth sites on the server (use domain tools.com to check)
could be another site on the server being hammered
Could be one of the sites you are getting info from getting hammered.
Could be the Internet itself being hit hard

Get firefox and firebug and there are some tools you can use to get a little look at your site, like how much time it is waiting.

Try disabling all plugins and see what it's like.

Thanks for your answer! :p

Whois said "3,404 other sites hosted on this server.", which sound alot but dosen't reallysay much to me. Also saw that host provider had updated some things today, but this should not affect me now.

Downloaded firefox, site seems alot faster now..
Firebug though show some interesting results, index page loaded in 4.06s (onload 4.07)

The three slowest request where from what I saw was:

- First one the domain (I think..) itself, in 1.52s
- Second one was /?bfa_ata_file=css with 1.25s which I find a little wierd, filefize 37.4 kb
- Third one was a png picture of a menu item that I have attached to a tooltip javascript, 1.58s

Then I visted a subpage that took even longer to load, 4.79s (onload 4.82s)

- About the same with the two first on the index, only that css-thing took 2.28s to load (what is this!)
- And Facebook plugin indeed slows down a bit, took 366 ms.
- Also something called map-media6degree that seems to be linked to the facebook plugin (466 ms, AddToAny) but I should maybe be able to turn that off after reading this : (http://wordpress.org/support/topic/a...edia6degrees-1)

Have I added some wierd code in my CCS or why do I get these results? :(

Just for a comparison, I have 7 other sites on the host I use (westhost.com)

your site loaded in 3.55s (onload 5.99s)

I see other people that use same host with similar number of sites and they don't have these problems ..

These two seems to be the big issue .. and has something to do with atahualpa's ccs/javascript (?)
But what could be the cause? Is it code? Bug?
Is my host is to slow to provide enough speed to load the theme?

Thanks. :o

What do you have ato->Configure CSS & JS
CSS: External file or inline?
and
Javascript: External file or inline?
set to? try the other option for both.

Factorfiction Feb 4, 2011 09:58 AM

I remember this, by default CSS was set to inline and javascript to external.
Changed both to external later.

After setting both to inline the site loads increable fast! :p

Any special reason for this?
Feels a bit chunky to have all stuffed up in the sourcecode, e.g if it mabye affect search engines that doesn't don't like it very much?

Would be interesting to know. ;)
