[SOLVED] Vertical image to left of container

Hi,

Wondering how to place a vertical image to the left of the layout container. I've sort of got it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dxmuzx0nr3...56.11.png?dl=0

Except in this case the image is in the left sidebar I've given the same background color as the main background...but that causes the site to be off center.

Is there a way to place the image outside of the container (in this case to the left) so it's always basically in that position (Stays to the left of the container no matter how wide browser is (so not background image) and stays flush to the top of the other columns?)

Thanks!

Rick

Quick additional thought - this is sort of a workaround and would only work if the intention was to not have a right side bar, but creating the right side bar with the same width as the vertical image I have in the left side bar and matching it to the layout background gives me the effect that I want.

In this case this particular project won't have sidebars with content so it works, but would still like to know if it's possible to put the image outside of the container (but relative to it's position)

Using the sidebar is the easiest way.

You could add a div with the image to the configuration area and then position it absolute
or you could create a template to do it, but the sidebar way is the easiest...besides you have two siedbars to play with on that side.

Makes sense...it didn't occur to me I could use both sidebars and essentially treat the eight and left ones like they're outside of the container using the inner sidebars as the actual sidebars. Thanks JD!
