[SOLVED] "Custom read more" can not be configuered

Hi,
I changed the value of the custom read more parameter to:
<a href="%permalink%">weiter lesen ...</a>
but it still shows the the default:
<p>Continue reading <a href="%permalink%">%title%</a></p>
on my pages.

This default text is only shown if I onsert the more tag within the editor. When it automatically cuts the text, then my value is displayed.

Any hints?
Comments ae highly appreciated!
Thx, Dietmar

what version of Atahualpa and WP?
What is the url?

Remember the 'read more' (ATO->"Read More" tag->Read More) applies when you use '<!--more-->' in a post. There is a different setting for EXCERPTS (ATO-> Configure EXCERPTS->Custom read more)

export your settings and attach to a reply (ato->export/import settings)

I have followed the above with the following settings:

I have inserted the code by clicking the button:
Attachment 1303

However, as you can see at the following link, it does not show up in the online homepage text:
http://jazzoids.com/

Any suggestions would be most appreciated :)

Hmmm...not sure if I can help you since I'm from the Foxboro area...:p
1) what version of Atahualpa and WP are you running
2) temporally disable all your plug-in's and see what happens
3) go to ato->export/import settings, export the atahualpa settings and attach them to a reply

and do you know you are throwing an error? check the bottom of the page where you see
Quote:

Warning: preg_match(): Compilation failed: nothing to repeat at offset 1 in /hsphere/local/home/c281205/jazzoids.com/wp-content/plugins/wassup/wassup.php on line 3954 Warning: preg_match(): Compilation failed: nothing to repeat at offset 1 in /hsphere/local/home/c281205/jazzoids.com/wp-content/plugins/wassup/wassup.php on line 3954
fix that and make sure it is not causing a conflict.

Ha...Foxboro always does well :)

I deactivated all plugins with no change

I don't see the error message you copied anywhere--help please.

looks like I'm (and you might be) seeing a cached page. Please shut off any caching plugin (wasup?) and flush the cache before testing.

remember, if you have a caching plugin active, changes you make will not be immediately reflected until the cached page expires.

I deactivated Wassup, and cleared the cache in my "browser." Guess I don't know of any other cache to clear.

In any event, all looks good from this end, and I have decided to not use "Read More" for this edition. However, I would like to be able to use that feature.

Any further thoughts in that vain would be appreciated.

Cheers, Ray

Looking at the source, it looks like that is a 'page' not a post. The 'more' tag only works in posts (WordPress restriction)

Ahhhh, you are so right. Thanks so much.
