Lite Blue background for image in post won't go away in IE

Running WPMU 2.9.2, Ata 3.5
Image on front page: http://batt.lbl.gov/
shows white bg in Chrome (this is what I want) but stays lite blue in IE
Same behavior with white or transparent canvas from Fireworks.

which image? I'm looking with IE and Safari and the pages look the same

The front page with red blue and yellow circles...maybe it's an IE version issue? I seem to have IE6.0

I would go check it out on some other versions. Ie6 is getting very old!!!
