[SOLVED] Trying to return to Atahualpa - subscription links and padding
Due to a contractual experiment, I had to move my blog to the iNove theme. Big mistake. I found it so extremely "thin", that I must find a way to return to Atahualpa.:o
I have to keep my site looking as close as possible to the way it is now. You can see it at arielsilverstone.com . And I think I am 95% of the way there. I only have 2-3 open items, and was hoping someone can help me. So here are the items: 1) I need to create a subscription link set (rss/twitter/email) at the top of the sidebar. Actually, what I would love is to have something similar to the default 'hualpa set that appears as part of the header (a set that I have to disable). I could not find a way to do it so far. BFA_ does the items one UNDER the other, and I am afraid to play with that widget. 2) the part of my site that is the padding (or actually the 17% or so of the page) that shows as red/black , shows up as red/black/white in 'hualpa. I use the very same background png as I use with iNove, but the results are greatly different. Thank you! |
what version of Atahualpa and WP?
WHat is the URL that shows the issue? Have you loked for any subscription widgets or tried using the Text Widget with HTML? |
The URL is above: arielsilverstone.com
WP is 2.8.4, Hoopla is 3.4.1 I did not try the text, because I thought/think there might be a theme tweak for that. I did look at widgets, and yet to find one that's perfect. I prefer not to add any to my 25+ roster, if possible. |
the site you point to is not using Atahualpa it is still using inove
Right, because I am showing what I *want* to have done, not what is.
Item #1 above is now closed. I found a plugin that would support it. I still think it can be done natively.
Item #2 is still open: "2) the part of my site that is the padding (or actually the 17% or so of the page) that shows as red/black , shows up as red/black/white in 'hualpa. I use the very same background png as I use with iNove, but the results are greatly different." |
How can I see the problem if you are using a different theme?
bump.......
check the background
Ok.....
In the beta, the one I want using haulpa that I to return to, it is "background:transparent url(http://arielsilverstone.com/wp-conte.../ariel_bkd.png) repeat-x scroll center top;" and in the current www it is "background:transparent url(img/ariel_bkd.png) no-repeat scroll center top; same png, same transparent, same scroll/center/top. The only diff is the repeat-x vs. the no-repeat. In Haulpa, no-repeat makes the png show up mid screen and only once. What am I missing? |
Check the background of the inova theme
I did... what's the riddle?
what's the difference between the backgrounds??? discovering the answer yourself is much better than having it handed to you, don't you agree :p
Got it! Thank you!
The solution was that in Atahualpa, the background was set to be transparent (showing white underneath) while in the other theme, it was set to grey.
