[SOLVED] How to on Post Thumbnails?
 

I'd like to show 2-3 posts in my center layout with a nice, attractive thumbnail and 25-50 words. But I don't see a step by step on now to use these thumbnails. Do I need a plugin? Do I insert the image as a thumbnail in the edit of a post? I tried both of these but my thumbnail doesn't show up until I actually click on the title.

Try this. In ATO>Configure Excerpts and try adding <img> to the don't strip these tags box.

Hi, I did that and it seems to now be doubling the images, even though there's only one image inserted into the post. I guess I'm unclear on the whole story regarding post thumbnails. Are we to add both a thumbnail AND an image, or are the images to be made into thumbnails? If so, by what process? Is there an on switch? I tried a site wide thumbnail generator but to use it would require running it on the whole site each time....

You must have an image inserted in the post and an image as a featured image. Just remove the featured image and see what happens.

Yes I found Featured Image now and as long as I don't insert a picture in the excerpt area it doesn't show up twice anymore. Thanks!
