Am I missing the obvious? left Side vertical nav bar

I have created menu 2, to display pages. I want to display this in the left hand side bar.

I must be missing something as I cant see how to make this happen. I'm sure it must be a simple option?

This is not a theme option but you can try the default wordpress 'Custom menu' widget
