Using Php in Footer in Version 3.6.7
Hi
I want to try, as described here, to activate "content above LOOP", "Loop", "Content below LOOP", "Content if NOT FOUND" in the index.php again. But the problem remained the same. Maybe somebody else knows if I in other files also must make changes? Regards NB |
I only use PHP in the footer - and got around it by adding a widget area to the footer and then using one of the many widgets that allow execution of PHP code.
If you could add a widget area where 'Content ABOVE Loop', 'The LOOP' etc. used to be would that work? |
Hi GarethP
Thanks for the reply. Your answer works described in part. But I can not use variables like %author-nickname%. Regards NB |
I guess that is because items like %author-nickname% are 'theme variables' and the PHP in this sort out widget is 'outside' the theme.
I'm sure there's some PHP way of obtaining this information from the WordPress database directly (some WordPress PHP functions maybe?), maybe a trip to the WordPress Codex? |
I have done it. :)
The tip with WordPress Codex and adding a new widget area was just right Thanks |
Now the next problem.
I made it, that it appears with a new widget area and the "Shortcode Exec PHP" plugin with Atahualpa 3.6.4. But in Atahualpa 3.6.7 I do not see anything. There is only a blank Line. Edit: After I changed the index.php I now see the text. But the text formatting (Class post-footer) that I use when add the new new widget area is not used. PHP Code:

are you saying you don't get the footer widget of you don't see the class?
|
If I change the index.php in 3.6.7 i see the text that I generate by "Shortcode Exec PHP" in the new Widget area which I have built in in version 3.6.4.
But the text formatting does not work like in version 3.6.4. I have used the "post-footer" class so that I can use the settings in the Atahualpa "Style Posts and Pages - FOOTER Box". |
