Showing Off
I am thoroughly and totally impressed with Atahualpa 3. I wondered if people might be interested in showing off what they have done with it?
My first site is oddly an attempt to take a great deal of the functionality back OUT - partly to see if I can use this theme for just about everything I want to do. The site is essentially not a blog at all. And yes, I CAN do it! go see WebinarAce to see it - has rotating images but just pages apart from that. Anyway, maybe we can see some other sites?? |
I've done quite a bit of configuring with my site The Wander Girl. I love this theme because I can customize without having to learn a lot of code. I know the basics of html and css and that was enough for me to build a custom site.

I like what you've done with the theme. Could you please tell me how you centered the page bar and how you made the header image smaller? Sorry if it's a silly question, I'm new to all this... |

I hope that helps. Thanks for checking out my site! |
I just want to second praise and joy about this magnificent theme. I've just been fiddling around with it for a few hours, but it looks a little different from the "usual" appearance, so if you're interested, take a look: http://www.MatthiasHeil.de

I have just used this theme for a day and I like it :)
I don't have much experience with wordpress or the themes but so far this one I like. My blog www.banooner.com |
I've used the K2 theme for years, but found this great theme on Saturday. Spent most of the Sunday playing with it and customizing it to my likings.
http://www.gauteweb.net/ Great stuff, I of course made a PayPal donation :) |
I am also completely jazzed by the Atahualpa Theme! :) After looking everything for a theme with the right "feel" for our site, Atahualpa fit perfectly! I've only had to make a few minor changes in the CSS/PHP because the theme interface itself is so superb. So many other theme designers could (and should) take notes on how this theme was done. It is outstanding and I was happy to make a donation!

Made a donation - what a great theme!
After updating to 3.1.8 I tweaked my first example www.webinarace.com and now have another very different example at www.getin2coffee.com |
Thank you, Owen.

I've been working on the Atahualpa theme in a test blog for just a few days (and some generous help from Flynn when I couldn't figure out how to do something :) )
(And of course made a donation.) So far, it's like this: http://www.ellifolks.com/testblog/ Ellen P.S. - and my regular blog is now this: http://www.ellifolks.com/blog/ |
As I've mentioned elsewhere in this forum, the Altahualpa theme ROCKS!
I've played with it for about a couple weeks. Using it for: The Digital Tavern - http://blog.digitaltavern.com/ I've also used a more stock configuration for a friend's personal blog here On The Digital Tavern, I'm still battling with the calendar as I can't seem to affect the font sizes... but this is a work in progress. |
This is by far the best Wordpress Theme I have seen. Well not that I have seen I guess, alot of 3 column themes around but this Theme allows you sooo much control over your content which makes it the best theme. I am really glad Altahualpa was created. Having the example code in my opinion was Brilliant. Has bailed me out a few times. Thank you to everyone who worked and developed this Theme.

At the end of January 2009 I was confronted with building up a web page as fast as possible for a citizens' initiative. "As fast as possible" because there will be a referendum in my hometown at the end of March 2009. I have been working with PCs for more than 20 years now but I never did anything that had to do with building up web pages.
In the following evenings - I have a "normal" job and a family - I read a lot, learned to find a webhoster, looked at different CMS, decided to choose WordPress, looked at different themes and chose Atahualpa. Within only ten days it was possible to achieve my aim. :) And a big role played (and plays) Atahualpa. Thank you very very much, Flynn! And also thank you for your unique support! I do hope that our citizens' initiative will have chances to assure people of attending the referendum and to vote for our ideas. If anybody wants to have a look please see http://baederlandschaft-waldkirch.de. It's a german webpage. (If you're reading this posting after the end of March 2009 the link may not exist any longer.) |
Pretty site Wander Girl!

Wow joestyer! Your Blackberry site is super extensive! Loads of works -- NICE LOOK!
I'm going to poke around with "Page Source" and try to learn something! |
Since a few weeks I'm using the Atahualpa theme. It is far the best I have ever used. I'm very pleased with it. If you like to see my site go to: http://www.ikfotograag.nl The language is Dutch and it is mainly about amateur photography and Gimp tutorials.

Thank You Jim Shepherd. The hits are rolling in world wide with just three weeks up and running. I hope BlackBerry users find the site very useful. Thank you again Jim. Thanks again to Flynn also, the Theme helped me a ton.
Best Regards Joe Styer |
I've been using this theme to design a brand new site for a local political group - we are still waiting to port to a brand new domain, but you can check out what I've done so far at http://www.kill-with-power.com/nbtrc/

Howdy!
My name is Ken Thomas, and I'm in the process of setting up a website for a new consulting business. A friend suggested I try WordPress as my CMS, and I picked the Atahualpa theme because I liked the basic look, and I loved all of the configuration options. I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted the site to look like, and Atahualpa seemed like it would give me enough options to get the look I wanted. Check it out here: http://t2c.us And let me know what you think. This is only the 3rd website I've ever worked on, and the first time I've ever used a CMS. In spite of my inexperience, I think Atahualpa has let me achieve a professional look. The only problem I've encountered is that I'd like to add a second 'Page' widget to the left sidebar, with Information pages in one widget, and Services pages in a second widget - and I haven't figured out how to do that yet. Any advice on that would be much appreciated. Thanks for the great work on this theme. It's been a godsend for me. |
After years using Gespaa 2 columns V2 it was time for an update. With my previous theme i couldn't use some of the new features of WP and i felt they would enhance my website.
So searching for theme's, trying a lot of them and finally decided to use Atahualpa 3... and wow, absolutely stunning! The flexibility is excellent, the options for customizing are amazing and the looks are exactly what i was looking for. Now my weblog about watches looks much better and i can finally use widgets :) Take a look at my weblog -> www.monochrome.nl Thanx for the great theme! Frank |
There are some very nice examples here. I have one more to add - I used Flynn's method for putting both sidebars to one side (see http://forum.bytesforall.com/showthread.php?t=168) to update a site for someone - the result is very nice

It's always nice to show off. My site is about the largest funfair in the Netherlands.
http://www.kermistilburg.nl I started usig the theme (and wordpress) just a few weeks ago (3.1.9) and, with no developer skills at all, it's kind of heaven on earth to me.. |
While not as sophisticated as many of the sites listed here, my Watching YouTube blog shows what a non-css coder and fairly green blogger can do with the Atahualpa template in a few days.
I find my current layout to be a bit busy -- something I hope to correct over time. My main concern is readability and ease of use. Blogs, like newspapers, can be a bit messy at first look but are nonetheless easily navigated and digested by the regular reader. Nonetheless, I am humbled and inspired by the many excellent uses of the Apahuala template see in this thread. I have used Jooma (Rochettheme) and still do for Strangelove.com but find WordPress to be MUCH easier for simple content management and page/post updating. Flynn's Atahualpa theme is well worth charging $50 to $80 and is an extraordinarly user-friendly and flexible product. Dr. Strangelove |

When I found this theme I knew it was exactly what I was looking for. And Flynn's forum was (and still is) simply unbelievable to discover. I donated right away and make regular contributions. Support the man, people!
Here's my site, for anyone interested. http://www.midriffrecords.com Among other things, Flynn showed me how to widgetize my front page, so that the main page sections are movable and easily customizable. Works so great for the purposes of the site. |
Awesome design, Tony. Wouldn't have known that Atahualpa is under the hood. Not a fan of the Blue/Ocher design colors, though, but that's just my personal preference. The catalog page with the "more details" feature is excellent.
