I am using Atahualpa on this site for last many years and simply love it. The best part is the customization options that let the webmaster be in perfect control.

@frankhamm: your footer widget areas look like thy are over lapping (on a mac in safari and fireFox) and it looks like you have php 'magic-quotes' turned on. Check to see what version of PHP you are running and switch to 5.3 if you are on 5.2

still working on it but I like it.

Here's a site I did a few months ago: www.havendesignstudio.co
The client was really pleased with it.

SharonJ May 21, 2013 11:34 PM

Great site, but is this Atahualpa???

crashley1784 May 22, 2013 08:13 AM

It certainly is :)

SharonJ May 22, 2013 10:39 AM

Wow. You have done an amazing job.

I would never have recognized that. I love the colours you have chosen- warm and clean. Your portfolio pages take a while to load (on my computer). What plugin or program are you using for those galleries? What Contact Form plugin did you use?

The very thin green lines make it all pop

crashley1784 May 22, 2013 11:02 AM

Thank you very much! It's definitely my favorite site that I've done thus far. I can't take total credit for the colors - those were the client's idea (green, orange, brown). The Slider plugin that I used on that site is RoyalSlider (available on Code Canyon). It's amazingly versatile. My favorite thing about it (aside from how well it works) is that on mobile devices you can swipe through the photos with your finger. The portfolio page is unfortunately a bit of a resource hog, I know; there are just a ton of photos on that page. Also, I use Gravity Forms, but that form is HEAVILY customized in terms of CSS.

I use Atahualpa for every single site I build, and no two look the same. I don't use it for the default styling; I use it because of the power and versatility of the framework and because I'm so familiar with it now that I simply can't do without it! lol. Also, the awesome support on this site is a big help. But I do take pride in the fact that my sites are not obviously "Atahualpa."

Thank you for the feedback!

Thank you juggledad for the kind words.

I am using the Gallery 2 (WPG2) plugin on both sites actually. Gallery is skinned with the X-Treme skin from Pedro Gilberto. Together with Atahualpa theme for Wordpress good results are possible even for someone like me.

Many thanks for your recent assistance btw.

Ok here is absolutely the best website I have ever created using Atahualpa. I created the magazine-style home page using multiple instances of a widget called Special Recent Posts Pro.

I want to thank everyone here for all their help over the years, and especially Juggledad who turned me onto Firebug. It totally revolutionized my web design. I can now do anything I want in css.

@emanuel1969: the center header widget is off in Safari on the MAC. It looks like Safari does not support negative margins like you have on the
HTML Code:

<div style="margin:20px 0 0 -158px;">
this causes teh text to be under the image in teh next widget.

emanuel1969 Jun 10, 2013 05:44 PM

I'm looking at it now in Mac-Safari and it looks fine. Can you send me a screen shot?

juggledad Jun 10, 2013 05:51 PM

1 Attachment(s)
here you go FireFoxon top, Safari on bottom

emanuel1969 Jun 10, 2013 06:11 PM

Hmm... that's not happening when I look at it in Safari here, on three different Macs. What could be going on?

juggledad Jun 10, 2013 06:13 PM

I get the same issue on my ipad
happens on my mac mini osx 10.7.5 Safari 6.0.4 and
MacBook Pro osX 10.8.4 Safari 6.0.5

emanuel1969 Jun 10, 2013 06:25 PM

Well that's a big bummer. I bet there's other problems too, since I use negative margins quite a bit.

emanuel1969 Jun 12, 2013 11:32 AM

Hey Juggledad, can you tell me if it looks better now on your browser? I removed the negative margins and instead used "position: relative;" and "left:-158px;"

Thanks!

juggledad Jun 12, 2013 12:04 PM

Much better on the ipad, I'll check the others when I get home

emanuel1969 Jun 13, 2013 01:34 PM

Thanks. Did you get a chance to check on your other devices?

I am using Firefox. I really like the look of the gallery, but it is very slow to load for me. So I tried it in IE. Same thing. And it moves to the top of the page every time. Is this just a problem on my computer, or do you experience the same thing?

juggledad Jun 13, 2013 02:29 PM

@emanuel1969: that looks fine now

emanuel1969 Jun 13, 2013 09:44 PM

@juggledad, thanks!

Here is my site Atadtek

tad1073 Jul 13, 2013 05:17 PM

 Is there a reason why I'm not getting any responses on any of my posts?

SharonJ Jul 13, 2013 05:25 PM

Tad:

Well first off...it is summer time...:)

Second off, it is the weekend....:)

And more importantly, on Firefox, it shows a completely blank page
...and in IE I get this:

The website cannot display the page

HTTP 500

Most likely causes:
•The website is under maintenance.
•The website has a programming error.

What you can try:

Refresh the page.
Go back to the previous page.
More information

I am hosting it myself and I have been getting those errors also when working on it and navigating through admin area I think is has something to do with apache2. I guess I need to examine my logs to find out what is going on.

I think he only just discovered there was a problem. His page is showing now.

Here's a site in development: http://wholehearted.heinrich.id.au/

There's more work to come before migrating it to its final home but all the mechanics are now in place. Many thanks to all who gave me clues and made suggestions.

SharonJ Jul 19, 2013 10:35 AM

Wow! That is lovely! Very nice indeed! Clean and bright. What is the name of the widget in the lowerr right?

SharonJ Jul 19, 2013 10:36 AM

MODERATOR: This page is marked as a RED by McAfee. Any reason for that?

lmilesw Jul 19, 2013 11:55 AM

I've never given much credence to Site Advisor. Bytesforall.com shows fine but forum.bytesforall.com doesn't. Perhaps there are some straggler spam messages with links to questionable sites. We take out and block all we see but probably miss some.

SharonJ Jul 19, 2013 03:27 PM

Thanks, Larry. I was not worried, but it has always been green before.

http://wordpress.org/plugins/smooth-slider/

I looked at a few sliders and bonded with this one. :)

SharonJ Jul 20, 2013 10:08 AM

Well, the crisp white and the bright red with the black lettering look very sharp together and the slider movement animates the page very nicely. As I said, well done!

Here is one of my latest. Not my usual style at all but it was a lot of fun figuring it out. The fonts are uploaded using Font Squirrel and are Coolvetica for the text and Biko for the headings. It loads a little slowly because of that, but the customer wanted those fonts specifically
