There will be a one-off payment to purchase ThemeFrame, which includes life time access to the moderated ThemeFrame forums, a documentation WIKI and video screencasts.

As someone who got in the "$40+ donation" way you get everything that regular purchasers get later for $1xx : Updates and access to forum, WIKI, tutorials.

There will be options to purchase additional support beyond the basic support (forum, WIKI).

Alrighty, my $40 donation is in and I got a confirmation through the PM that I made it to the gold level. My simple next question is how to get access to the Theme Frame beta so I can start playing around with it? I was sold after the video screen captures showing the functionality and am pretty excited to start playing.

It looks good, like Ron Burgundy good.

Cheers,
Tom

Go to the Themeframe Members forum, it's in the first sticky.

Thanks, Flynn....

If you or J dad could answer the last 2 questions for me briefly, I will get the 40 dollars to Jdad...

1) If I have no skill in coding, will TF be easy to use?...I did get fastharry.com to look halfway decent on ATA, and I am willing to experiment for hours, but if it is real complicated to use with having to code, taht would be an issue.

2)...Am I gonna have to rebuild and rewrite fastharry.com from the ground up again?...esp. adding all the pics and articles....or will all the articles and pics transpose over to the new TF site....

Let me start with question 2 first. Both Atahualpa and what you create with ThemeFrame are THEMES. Themes control the look of your site, not the data that is in your site. The data (posts, pages, categories) are all stored in the WordPress database, so no you won't have to recreate the site. It's the same as if you switch to the default theme, it looks very different, but the data is still there.

Question 1: will it be easy to use...this is tough because first off it is evolving. That's why it is in Beta right now, bugs are being found and corrected. Compared to coding a theme by hand, yeah I'd say it would be easier, much asier for someone that knows CSS and programming because ThemeFrame will do a lot of the heavy lifting for you, but for someone that doesn't know any coding...probably not because you have to understand what all thise options are and which to use.

So it may depend on how many sites you will use it for. I wouldn't recommend it for my sister who is using Atahualpa for a school web site because she's just become comfortable with Atahaulpa and just doesn't have the time or budget to learn something new and redesign her site.

But my neice who does web develpoment for a major university...she wants to see and play with it.

Ok..thanks....I watched the video and I read your first impressions. I want to give it a shot. My whole purpose of getting into websites was to learn design and host people. And this looks really interesting. So tell me where to send my 40 so it gets logged...

Thanks JD...

Thanks, I'll check it all out over the weekend...have to get dressed and head to a mall for indoor walking for my rehab since the weather is frigid in NJ...

Thanks again for all you help and have a great weekend

It seems the beta group is still open, is that true?

juggledad Jan 9, 2010 03:54 AM

It' open till Flynn releases the "Release Candidate" which will be very soon. Here is a quote from him
Quote:

I'll work out the last remaining quirks and release Beta 3 Wednesday Jan-6 or Thursday Jan-7

I will release Themeframe "Release Candidate" at a reduced price of $75 for early adopters within this week on themeframe.com.

Until it is released on themeframe.com, you can get it here at forum.bytesforall.com if your donation level is $40 or higher, without further payment. There are no recurring payments so once you're in you'll get the same thing that others get later at a price of $XXX
You need to have made at lease $40 donations to Flynn or myself or any combination. Once you've made the donation shoot me a PM and I'll set you up

sweeper240 Jan 9, 2010 09:35 PM

Hi, I just donated $40 for the pre-release deal, Really excited about ThemeFrame :)

Thanks!

juggledad Jan 10, 2010 04:00 AM

sweeper240 - you should be all set

bsaunder Jan 10, 2010 11:27 AM

Very glad to find this project! - will be a huge time saver for me as I have yet to find a pre-canned theme that I fully like and I don't currently have the time to truly code my own.

donations gladly sent!

drex Jan 10, 2010 10:55 PM

donated as well!

JL32BiT Jan 12, 2010 09:29 AM

I loved Atahualpa, and I've donated $40. Can't wait to try ThemeFrame out!

jaclerigo Jan 13, 2010 04:07 AM

Hi there,

if I donate the $40, will I be still elegible for ThemeFrame?

I've donated 65.00 over the last year. Do I need to donate more? Some threads say 40.00, 75.00 or 80.00. Can hardly wait to try ThemeFrame.

juggledad May 4, 2010 05:35 PM

lchapnick, at this point it takes an additional donation of $80 to get themeframe until it goes final, then the price will go up again. The numbers you saw were for the early betas.
