As Flynn said you can get in anytime before it is released. Since it is not released yet, I would say the answer is yes.

A question though: The themeframe beta, with the features that isn't implemented yet, will it be possible to build and maintain a site with the beta, and not lose any functions that Atahualpa has? How big will the limitations be on the beta? You see, I'm going to build a pretty big (I hope) site this week, and I'm not sure if I should use Atahualpa and wait until Themeframe goes 1.0, or wait a until the beta is released and start on the site then. |
I agree that the positive experience of using Atahualpa will make more-than-casual users willing to pay for Themeframe. Especially if the support community is as robust and helpful as this one is.
Early today, I checked out a new twitter follower to see if I wanted to follow him back. When I got to his website I found it was Atahualpa-themed! I felt immediate kinship. Anyone who's using Atahualpa can't be all bad, can they? ;) |

Typography is font-face, font-size, line-height, letter-spacing, word-spacing and maybe font-style, font-variant and text-transform, if I'm not mistaken. There are sliders for the numeric value based settings and select menus for the rest, all combined on one tab of the CSS creator. You can see the changes immediately and salt to taste.
Thesis is a very popular and well marketed theme, kudos to Chris Pearson. I do not follow Thesis' footsteps though, I don't even have a copy. Quote:

It will be a separate forum section, where only forum members with a "Themeframe" membership subscription can read & post. The subscriptions will be managed by the forum software's integrated "Paid Subscriptions" feature as the central application to manage distribution and users, with little custom scripts to control downloads.

IMHO many of the sites I've seen that have been created using Thesis - look like, well, Thesis! And frankly a bit like a Volvo - solid, safe but a little traditional and dare I say it ... boring. I'm not criticising Thesis, all I'm saying is that the beauty of Atahualpa is that it seems to actively enable you to create unique, individual sites that don't look like an out-of-the-box solution. Anyway, this argument is about to become irrelevant, because based on the video, Themeframe is about to become the next best thing since sliced bread. :) Keep up the great work Flynn, I've donated and am looking forward to the Beta. |
I agree, re: Thesis. You can get any typography you want with Atahualpa and Themeframe. Very flexible layout, too. And if you want something really boffo, you can always create an image with typography.

Just found this forum and it looks like Themeframe is going to be an exceptional product. Just wondering if I still have time to get in for the beta? Also, I understand that the donation level for becoming a beta user is $40.(USD or CAD does it matter?) Is that correct? Will the the beta users have to pay an upgrade when it goes out of beta? Just a few concerns as I am a new Wordpress user (developer) and can see the advantages of a product like this. :)

You can still get in since it hasn't been released yet. The donation can go to Flynn or myself (Juggledad) and it's $40US and All Themeframe Beta users will get a free upgrade to Themeframe.

I'm thinking there may be a glitch of sorts. I donated $20 way back and had 1 gold bar, then I donated another $20 recently and now have zero gold bars.

You should add to your donation site, that money sent to Juggledad, will not immediately show up. Or so at least it has been the case for me (I put 20 each, but only received one PM regarding payment - none for the donation to Juggledad).
Well was planning to donate around 20$ anyhow, so this thread got me motivated to add up another 20. So thanks for your great work here. Currently searching for part time work and living from donations because I need time in setting up a new business, I know how hard it is.... Edit: Just after posting, second gold bar appeared, still a bit slower.... Edit 2: After editing now both gold bars are gone...., you seem to have a problem here. Edit 3: Well after re-entering they are back. So seem to be visible only if you access a thread, but gone after posting a reply, reappearing on reload. |
I just posted your payment to me, thanks - as long as the payment is made before the beta is released, you will get in. When I post the donations, I always post it as of the donation date, no matter when I actually post it.
Once again, thanks for the donation (ps the bars probally happened because I was updating and hit an error and fixed it, so we were probably doing it at the same time) |
