Replacing footer with default footer? (WP polls problem)

Apparantly replacing the theme footer with the default footer is something that other people have done to get WP-polls to work properly.

If I do that, will Atahualpha still work? The error message with WP polls is "please choose a valid poll answer" ie it wouldn't accept the vote.

Custom Bullets

I would like to add "red checkmark" bullets to my page. I have ATO 3.5.3 WP 3.0.1 and just installed TinyMCE Advanced.
I have followed a few different guidelines, including editing the css code of both the TinyMCE and ATO to include:

.chkmark8 {
background:transparent url(/images/chkmark8.gif) no-repeat scroll 0 0;
list-style-type:none;
padding-left: 20px;
}

(and I uploaded the gif to the "images" folder - as well as icon and bullet folders :).

That did add chkmark8 into the styles "drop down", but no check marks appeared.

I also followed Ken's suggestions from April 2010 (which included editing the CSS style button from the TinyMCE toolbar)

Still no red check bullets :(

Any help would be appreciated.

Frontpage Slideshow not loading images in IE 7 or 8

I am pretty sure this is not limited to ATA, but maybe if this problem can be solved, the answer can help the group. I have tried everything I can think of. Seems like jquery is just a bedeviling thing. I am not married to this particular plugin, but I have never been able to get anything to work that simply shows a dynamic gallery of the recent posts, images or whatever. This is the only thing that even comes close to working (I hate IE!!). I am totally open to suggestions if anyone has found a better plugin that will work with this configuration.

Plugins: Akismet, Clean-Contact, Image Widget, List Category posts, Secure Wordpress, Simple Section Navigation Widget, Wordpress Database Backup.

I was only having problems with IE 7 and IE 8, and then just intermittently. It works fine on Chrome, Firefox and even on my Iphone with Safari.

Initially I was able to see error text in my browser that showed there was a conflict with a plug in called Connections. I wasn't using it anyway so I deactivated and deleted. I still have images not loading intermittently in IE7 and IE 8 - like everyone else it seems like if the cache is clear, the images show up. Like, if you go to a fresh computer and open the site in IE, it's OK. It seems to be cycling through the posts but not showing images.

Removing all the plugins and re-activating didn't help a lot because it's so intermittent. I think I've found the culprit and then the problem reappears. The problem happens in the default TwentyTen theme also so I don't think it's the theme.

I was using the newest version of Frontpage-Slideshow. So, I downgraded to .8 and installed manually. Same result.

I really like this plugin a lot and would like to use it but unfortunately IE is still the most-uses browser so I can't have this not work.

[SOLVED] Table background colors not working

I just added TinyMCE Tables (as well as TinyMCE Advanced). When I go to add color to a table cell, it doesn't show on ATO 3.5.3 (I am using WP 3.0.1)
I tried a different table plugin (WP tables) and the background color didn't show with it either.
I switched themes to 2010 and the colors worked perfectly!
Is there a way to get the background colors to work in ATO 3.5.3? I am doing a lot of design work that requires the use of tables with differnt colors. I am using a colored background for the overall presentation of the pages as well, so I don't want to have to take that out in order to get the tables to have color.
Maybe a different plugin, or better yet - a "fix" for the TinyMCE table so that the background colors will apply properly.

Sharethis button automatically placed on top of entire blog

Hey guys,

At my dutch blog vollmer.nl i'm trying to add the "share this buttons" at the bottom of my blogposts.

I installed and activated the "share this" plugin (4.04) on my wordpress atahualpa theme. It works.

But apart from adding small buttons at the bottom of my blogposts, it also generates a facebook "like" button at the top of my blog, above my header.

Which is lame.

I can't figure out where to alter this. Can you guys help out?

Placing AddThis button in top area around Byline?

Hi everybody,

Has anyone already figured a way to place the AddThis button more visible by placing it towards the top of a post/page? I would like mine to appear by the byline. Right it is placed at the bottom of the page, and I have scroll down to see it. Any help please?

P.S. As shown on my site, I would like the Addthis button to be place BEFORE the post, next or around to the Facebook like button frenchtasticpeople{[dot]}com . Anyone has a killer CSS to help me with this? Thank so much in advance.

[SOLVED] Problems with Lightbox 2

I just noticed that Lightbox 2 does not seem to be working on my latest posts.

If you look at this post you will see that when you click on the image it opens up to the larger image in the same window

Atahualpa and BuddyPress

Dear all,
I am on a test to use BuddyPress with Atahualpa.

1- The BuddyPress bar with the my Account menu items has strange colors. Background is grey and text is nearly the same grey. Width is not under any control.
2- I would like to get rid off this menu bar but it above my capacity. I used the new menu facility to create a menu with the buddypress items but this one is not updated (once connected I still have a 'Log In' option).
3- When I look at the buddypress.org website, I understand I miss something. Forms, context linked menu etc. Am I missing plugins?

If somebody uses Buddypress and Atahualpa, could he (she) please explain a bit about the architecture and the plugins used?

Plugin problem with events registration and download manager

I installed WP 3.0.1 and buddypress. I am using Atahualpa 3. I installed Events Registration and Download monitor and they work except when I go to wp-admin/widgets.php the right column disappears, the column that you drag widgets to for installation on the various columns. How can I correct this?

[SOLVED] Isn't there a better way to display photos?

I think this is an age-old question in Wordpress. It's handling of images has improved somewhat in recent versions but it's still difficult to insert a number of photos in a neat layout. That's all I am asking. Nothing fancy. No flash.

I have tried NextGen Gallery and lazyest-gallery, and could get neither to work.

This needs to be very simple for a client who will be managing the site going forward.

Maybe it would be better for them to get a Picasa or some other account like that, and manage their photos through that, with a plugin that displays the photos from that account in WP.

Suggestions?

[SOLVED] Atahualpa Widget Areas: On home page only, not other pages?

I have a widget area placed just before the loop. I'd like for this widget area to appear only on the home page, and not on post pages, category pages, etc. Is there a way to do this?

I used this code to place the widget area before the loop:

My Supercache page URLs incorrectly contain /supercache/

Hi:

I installed Supercache 0.9.9.3 on a client's site themed with Atahualpa 3.46. My SuperCache page URLs incorrectly contain /supercache/.

I also repopulated .htaccess with rules from the current Supercache release. I did a diff between my .htaccess and the rules displayed under View Mod Rewrite Rules in the Supercache control panel. The rules are in .htaccess correctly. Same thing for cache/.htaccess. The Supercache control panel test says that it is working.

This WordPress forum thread suggesting disabling all plugins: Supercache appended to URL

I did that and the problem remains. This therefore suggests that the problem is with my configuration or that it involves a Supercache incompatibility with Atahualpa, so I am posting this problem here.

More details:
When logged in as admin, a specific page URL displays as:
http://www.limitstogrowth.org/articl...terrible-cost/

When not logged in, the same page URL displays as:
http://www.limitstogrowth.org/wp-con...ost/index.html

Both pages contain in the source:

Suggestions?

Perhaps I should throw out Supercache and go with basic WP Cache or with Cache 2?

Adsense Not Working?

I am starting from scratch with a new blog today, added Wordpress, and found this wonderfully beautiful customizable theme, Atahualpa. The only downside to it so far is that I cannot figure out a way to add my adsense advertisements to the sidebar. HOW can this be achieved, what plugins are required, or what coding is need be done?

I have tried at least 10 plugins and NONE have achieved the desired effect.
